Esher College offers the opportunity to participate in an Events Management course where students are able to create and organise events of their own. Second year student, Maddie Guest, and her team spent months planning for a gig night to raise money towards the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

On Wednesday 10th December 60 guests from all over the area attended the gig night to show support. Solo artist, Nadine Assam, kicked off the night. Soon followed by AFUMA and Anglia offering a variety of music genres for all of the audience to enjoy. To finish the evening, the best was defiantly saved until last with a special set from The Smokey Krows.
Overall £372 was raised thanks to the success of the evening and was donated to the charity to help sick children. The money was raised by charging a small fee for entrance tickets and a raffle took place.
One student said that: "it was by far one of the best student gigs that I have been to".
Gail Deal, teacher of the course, even said that it was: "the best, most well organised, college event she'd attended".
Following the event I spoke to team leader, Maddie Guest, and she said: "we were delighted to support such an amazing charity and the turn out and support was incredible. I look forward to creating more entertaining evenings!"
Due to the precise planning and organisation the event was a tremendous success. A massive well done to Maddie and her group.
