High Focus Party Brighton Flyer

High Focus Records were back in Brighton this weekend for their first show of 2017. An immense line-up filled Concorde 2: Jazz T, Molotov, Rye Shabby, Pete Cannon, Onoe Caponoe, BVA, Verb T, Strange U, Fliptrix, Leaf Dog and Jam Baxter, all with DJ Sammy B-Side on the decks.

The High Focus party popped off, as always. Concorde really is the best venue for gigs like this, getting to the front is easy and there’s always a good view... see below:

Jam Baxter’s new album ‘Mansion 38’ was released on the day of the party so it only made sense to showcase some of his new songs. Most of the people there knew all the words to his tracks resulting in great vibes and a hyped up atmosphere – like all rap shows should be.

Our top tracks from Mansion 38 are:

1. For A Limited Time Only

2. Dumb (Tellion and Lee Scott)

3. Souffle

4. Chateaux in Toulouse (Dirty Dike and Dabbla)

5. Just Us For anyone who has followed High Focus Records over the years will know that selling out big venues like Concorde 2 and maxing out tents at festivals (Dead Players at Boomtown 2016 was dope!!!) is a huge progress for the boys and UK hip hop in general. All the dudes at High Focus have each put their stamp on the hip hop genre and we’re excited to see what’s next for them all.

Before you leave, check out Fliptrix’s short but sweet snippet of ‘The Lion’s Den’ from his set on Friday…
